I am especially interested in Mandarin movies from the early 1980s, and before that. Movies from the 1970s are available on VCDs in a fairly wide range but not those from the 1960s and 1950s.
Does anyone know why those movies produced by Shaw Brothers, that are not opera, are not released on VCDs or other formats commercially? Their "song-clips" can be bought and in good picture quality but I haven't seen their respective movies on sale.
For those readers in Singapore, could you tell me (via this forum or contacting me directly by e-mail) what old movies are on sale there (excluding those from the 1970s and opera) and where? I am in the UK, and will visit Singapore in the near future.
In fact, I would prefer you to contact me directly because this forum does not have e-mail notification facility. However, any reply would be very much appreciated.
