1 April 2007. Hong Kong director Cheng Poi-Shui's Dog Bite Dog, starring Edison Chen and Sam Lee, won Lotus Action Asia - The Best Action Asia Film Award at the 9th Deauville Asian Film Festival. Six action films from Hong Kong (Dog Bite Dog and Dragon Tiger Gate, Korea (Shadowless Sword, The City of Violence, The Restless), Japan (Shinobi) participated in the Action Asia section of this year's festival.
A Thailand movie, Syndromes and A Century, directed by Apichatpong Weerasethakul, won Lotus du Meilleur Film - The Best Film Award. King and the Clown, and Ad Lib Night, both from Korea, won the Jury Prize and Critics' Prize respectively.
