Three Chinese films in Venice competition

The organisers of the Venice Film Festival have announced this year's films in competition. Three Chinese language films, The Sun Rises Again (dir. Jiang Wen), Love, Caution (dir. Ang Lee), and Help Me Eros (dir. Lee Kang-sheng), have been selected. Jiang Wen's film is reported to compete in this year's Cannes but miss the deadline because of an accident in print production. Help Me Eros is actor Lee Kang-sheng's debut, who has starring in many films by director Tsai Ming-liang.

Chinese director Zhang Yimou will chair the international jury.

Alexi Tan's Blood Brothers has already been chosen as the closing film.
