Hong Kong director Fruit Chan is preparing a new film project based on the true story of the teenage Bruce Lee living in 1950's Hong Kong, the Chinese language website sina.com reports. The film, 'Kowloon Town', will tell the story of young Bruce Lee, struggling between learning martial arts and threats from local gangers, until his departure to the US. Terence Chang will be the producer of this new film.
Fruit Chan says the most difficult part is to find a suitable actor who can play a teenage Bruce Lee. He may need recruit the actor through contest. When being asked about the similar project by Stanley Kwan and Wong Kar Wai, Fruit Chan said different projects have different angle, and won't compete with each other.
