HONG KONG - Chow Yun-fat and Johnnie To said Wednesday they are in talks to shoot a Hong Kong action movie together, with To saying he's cleared his schedule to make way for the rare collaboration.
The film would bring together one of Hong Kong's biggest action stars and one of the few local directors left to make the stylish action movies that the territory is known for.
Chow and To revealed the possible collaboration while attending a news conference for a short film competition.
"We're discussing the matter," Chow told reporters, adding that he was exercising regularly to get in shape for the movie.
To said his frequent co-director Wai Ka-fai is still working on the script, but that he hopes shooting can start next month, with filming to take place in Hong Kong and the neighbouring gambling enclave of Macau. He wouldn't reveal the story or other actors cast in the movie.
