Johnnie To's Sparrow will premiere and compete at next month's Berlin Film Festival. Sparrow is among the nine films that join the eight films previously announced in the Competition program, competing for the Golden Bear Award. Another Chinese film, In Love We Trust, directed by Wang Xiaoshuai's (Shanghai Dreams, Beijing Bicycle) has already been selected into the Competition.
Taiwanese director Zero Chou, a Teddy Bear Award winner, will premiere her new film Drifting Flowers in the Panorama program.
This year's Berlin Film Festival will start on 7 Feburary.
