蘇格蘭首府愛丁堡將在07年3月舉辦盛大的中國電影節(Cinema China 07)。電影節除放映近30部中港台影片外，還邀請了著名女演員張曼玉和導演謝飛介紹放映影片和個人從影經歷。為放映阮玲玉主演的《神女》，電影節還特意邀請作曲家葉建豪譜并現場演奏。
組織者稱本次電影節為英國最大的中國電影節，選擇放映的電影包括三四十年代的《神女》、《烏鴉與痲雀》，和《小城之春》，大陸各個時期的影片《舞臺姐妹》、動畫片《大閙天宮》、《變臉》，張藝謀各時期的多部作品、賈樟珂的《任逍遙》，香港各個時期的重要影片，李翰祥的《梁山伯與祝英臺》，以及《俠女》、《獨臂刀》、《董夫人》、《花樣年華》等多種類型電影；台灣電影除侯孝賢的《悲情城市》，還有《囍宴》《愛情萬歲》等。專程從北京電影學院前來參加電影節的導演謝飛還帶來了他的作品《香魂女》《本命年》，以及新導演衛鐵的作品《遠離》。
本次電影節將于3月9日開幕，開幕影片是張曼玉演的《阮玲玉》。所有影片將在愛丁堡的藝術影院Filmhouse放映。
