Young and Dangerous 98 had turned from a sophisticated triad
movie about honour and loyalty to a simple movie for entertainment
value. No message is sent in this movie, and there are no more
touching scenes for the audience. The script is truly morally
challenged, since the triad is portrayed as heroes and rulers
of HK. For example, when a gangster got out of jail decided
to get a job and abandon the crime of life, Chan Ho Lam convinces
him that HK is ruled by gangsters, and that the only way to succeed
in life in Hong Kong is to be part of the traid.
Despite the flaws of this movie, this movie is filled with
suspenseful action and a very energetic plot.
