蛰伏三年，周星驰再次推特别视觉效果的喜剧《长江7号》。故事讲述一位以拾荒为生的父亲铁（周星驰饰）和儿子小狄（徐娇饰）过着捉襟见肘的生活，小狄更经常被人欺负。某天，父亲竟然拾得一只外星生物！小狄把它命名为「长江7号」，并希望凭它的超能力摆平所有问题，在同学面前「吐气扬眉」。可是，这外星人竟然另有主见，还制造了更多的麻烦…最后，两父子明白到「家」的意义，以及钱并非万能。
