Synopsis
Kekexili, home to the Tibetan antelope. Prized for its skin in making luxurious scarves, the antelope’s numbers have been dwindling drastically as poachers vastly slaughter the animals. Local Tibetans formed a volunteer patrol to try to stop the illegal poaching - sometimes at the cost of their own lives. The film chronicles the life-and-death struggle between these volunteers and the poachers. Reminiscent of a particularly tough and unsentimental Western in its story of determined men tracking an implacable foe across an unforgiving landscape, KEKEXILI is a powerful, engrossing, visceral experience.
Mandarin Pinyin system is used for romanization. People's last name comes first.
