Three Times (2005)

The three episodes of the film set in three different periods of Taiwan, all played by the two leading actors. In A Time for Love of the 60's Taiwan, Chen has one day off from his national service to look for his girl May. In A Time for Freedom of Taiwan under Japanese occupation, a courtesan persudes her lover, Mr Chang, who is involved in republicans' revolution, to free her preganant colleauge. In A Time for Youth of present Taiwan, a bisexual musician is living her life as if there is no tomorrow. You can almost indentify the stories' previous life in Hou's early work.
